Discovering that God loves us dearly

Introduction:

Everybody is searching for love in their life.  We mostly find love from our friends, neighbors, fellow Christians and of course family.  This human emotion is a necessity in living no matter how we try to hide it and the Bible shows many scriptures and specific verses that teach us even further.  This Sunday let us discover love and you might be surprised but we can find it everywhere.

1)  Know that God loves us back

Proverbs 8:17

1 John 4:7

-      When we love, we expect to be loved in return

-      It sometimes hurts if we don’t get our love reciprocated

-      God our Father will surely love us in return if we do the same

2) The love of Christ Jesus transcends the limits of our understanding.

Please open your Bibles next on:

Ephesians 3:19

1 Peter 4:8

-      Understanding love can be confusing and hard

-      The Bible teaches us how Jesus understands Love

-      Love is unconditional, love is caring & sharing it without expecting anything in return

-      Love is serving others and serving others means serving God

3)  Love used in selfish and harmful ways

1 Timothy 6:10

Proverbs 8:36

Money can also be in the form of many things in life.  It may be our love for fame or popularity, it can also be material things beyond our capacity of obtaining and many more.  What we should know is if we are about to stray away from God’s teachings and give in to temptation just to satisfy our greed, this is a sign that we are about to commit sin against God.

-      Destructive Love

a)    Love for money

b)    Love for fame

c)     Love for luxury beyond our financial capacity

-      Never forget God’s teachings about love

Summary:

Discovering love as a Christian is way easier than we think.  An Archaeologist applies many procedures and methods to make a discovery of a lifetime but we don’t have to do the same and make things complicated or scientific.  What we as Christians and an Archaeologist have in common is that we can use our time as explained in the Bible.  Before it is too late, let us share the love we discovered from God and let others know that He loves us in return, the same love that Jesus taught us.
