conquered Canaan
b. Babylon through
Nebuchadnezzar
c. Medo-Persia through Darius
d. Graeco-Macedonia through
Alexander, the Great
e. Rome through Julius Caesar
2. In the 16th to 20th centuries, the
following leaders emerged:
a. Spain through Magellan
b. France-Napoleon Bonaparte
c. Germany - Adolf Hitler
d. Japan- Yamashita in Asia
e. Other countries followed
B. God's words talk about Spiritual
Conquests through our Lord Jesus Christ
1.Reasons world leaders conquered the
world in their time
2. Modern day world conquests from 16th
to 20th centuries
3. Spiritual conquests-our goal, the
most challenging and important goal

A. Historians gave the following reasons
for world conquests- power, wealth and fame through
1. Expansion of territory or more lands
2. More people means more taxes,
tribute, wealth
3. Fame or recognition, ego booster
a. Alexander, the Great claimed
himself as the son of Zeus and the right to rule the world
b. Roman emperors’ divinity as
pontifex maximus
c. Mohammed spread Islam through
the sword at the command of Allah
B. From the 16th to the 20th centuries,
the following nations rose to power
1. Spain- sword and religion; France-
Napoleon Bonaparte; Germany- Adolf Hitler
2. Later came Japan, China, Russia and
the Allied Forces of USA and others
3. Weapons used were physical and demon
inspired
4. Genghis Khan of Mongolia waged a
trade war in the silk road
5. Then came technological
warfare - use of internet, wifi, etc
6. There is now " biological
warfare" using viruses, germs or bacteria- invisible weapons killing
millions or even billions- all Satanic inspired
C.Spiritual Conquests- Our Goal
1. Man is triune being, I Thessalonians
5:23
2. But God controls everything as
Spirit and Omnipotent Being, John 4:23-24 and Matthew 28:18
3. God's enemy and ours too is Satan
and his demons
4. As our enemies are spiritual, we
have to use spiritual weapons also mentioned in Ephesians 6:11-17
a. Girdle of Truth
b. Breastplate of righteousness
c.Feet shod with the gospel of
peace
d. Shield of faith
e. Helmet of salvation
f. Sword of the Spirit- word of
God
5. 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 - our weapons
are to demolish spiritual strongholds such as arguments, pretensions, thoughts
against the knowledge of God and make them captives and obedient to Christ
6. In I John 4:4, the Apostle wrote
that God is greater than the one in the world
7.0ur victory is through our Lord Jesus
Christ, I Corinthians 15:57
8. The victory that overcomes the world
is our faith, I John 5:4
9. How did Jesus defeat the devil and
death? By His resurrection from the dead, Ephesians 1:20-21
10. Paul wrote that " we can do all
things through Christ," Philippians 4:13
11. James 4:7 says " we have the
devil and he will flee from us."
12. Peter also wrote that " we have
to be alert for the devil prowls like a roaring lion seeking whom to
devour," I Peter 5:8-9
Conclusion
A. Christians can win over evil for
" we are more than conquerors through Christ.." Romans 8:37-39
