Introduction
A. Jesus said. " Enter through the narrow gate...which leads to life and only a few find it," Matthew 7:13-14
1. Many desire to enter heaven and experience eternal life. They want to be sure about this but only a few find the way.
2. It is important that we should know the terms for entrance into God's abode and enjoy eternal life.
B. At this time of the pandemic, millions are praying for Christ's immediate return
1. We want to be free from pain and suffering and to be a part of the " spiritually saved" when Jesus brings us all to heaven and to life during the " rapture!"
2. Let us now study the " sure way" to heaven and eternal life.
Discussion
A. The Bible or God's words is the "sure source" of information to point/ direct us to heaven and to eternal life.
1. Jesus said in John 14:6 " I am THE WAY..the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through ME."
2. Our Lord Jesus makes an " absolute claim" by saying " I am" ( YHWH or Yahweh) meaning the Eternal One.
3. Yet many belie this " absolute claim"of Jesus. Some mock or laugh at this statement. Others are still searching for the SURE WAY.
4..In Matthew 7:21, Jesus said that " not those who call Him 'Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven but those who will do God's WILL."

6. What are the terms for the sure way to heaven and life?
a. Hear and believe the gospel, Romans 1:16 and Mark 16:16
" without faith, it is impossible to please God, " Hebrews 11:6
" this faith must be coupled with action for even the demons believe in God also,James 2:19
"faith is seeing the invisible and believing the impossible, " Hebrews 11:1
b..Repentance is the "change of the will, the mind and the heart coupled with action for a new life dedicated to God."
Christ said " unless you repent, you will all perish," Luke 13:3,5
Peter asked the " believing Jews" in Jerusalem to " repent..".Acts 2:38
Paul told the idolatrous Athenians " to repent..".Acts 17:30
c. Baptism- water is used for physical cleansing. So Jesus used this element to symbolize " spiritual cleansing!"
But the real cleansing power is in the " sacrifice of Jesus Himself and His blood," John 3:16, I John 1:7-9
Both Jews and Gentiles used animal sacrifices to atone for their sins.
Ephesians 2:8-9 are the verses that some false teachers use to teach that " faith only" will save a person.
B. The saved are put/ placed by God Himself in His church/kingdom, Acts 2:47
1. But the saved are also listed in God's Book of Life. Revelation 3:5 and 20:15; Luke 10:20, Hebrews 12:22-23 and Philippians 4:3.
2..One's name can also be erased from the Book of Life.
Conclusion
A. Christ is inviting everyone to come to Him for the Sure Way to Heaven and Eternal Life.
1. All who are spiritually weary and heavy laden will receive " spiritual rest."
2..Christ's yoke and burden are " spiritually light" as we shall receive real forgiveness
3. Jesus is meek and lowly in heart
4. On His return, Jesus will take vengeance on those who " do not know God and will not obey the gospel " 2 Thes. 1:8-9
