  1. This lesson is a sequel of those two past studies.

  2. It is important to discuss this subject as Jesus said, " You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free," John 8:32

 B. The approach in this study shall be as follows:

  1. What is our spiritual vaccine against the sin virus? How does it boost our spiritual immune system?

  2. What should be our spiritual responses or attitudes towards the spiritual vaccine?

Discussion

 A. What is our Spiritual Vaccine and How does it work?

  1. But why do we need a spiritual vaccine?

  2. The reason: we are always in danger of spiritual infection

    a. The devil walks about seeking whom to devour, I Peter 5:8

    b. " Sin is crouching at the door, " Genesis 4:7 ( God's warning to Cain)

  3. A spiritual vaccine " infuses our thoughts with positive ideas and not allowing our fears to overpower our God directed plans."

    a. " As a man thinks, so is he," Proverbs 23:7

    b. "We become what we think about," Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius ( 121- 180 AD)

    c. " Whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report, think on these things, " Philippians 4:8

  4. A spiritual vaccine " will genuinely wish good for others, not hating  or envying them for what they have."

    a. Jesus said, " Love your enemies; bless and pray for them who persecute you, " Matthew 5:44

   5. Most importantly, having been spiritually vaccinated, you will do everything without complaining or arguing..."Philippians 2:14-15

   6. You will also " give thanks in all circumstances as it is God's will," First Thessalonians 5:17-18; James 1:3

  7. " You will not be anxious about anything but by prayer and supplication, you will let God know your requests," Philippians 4: 6-7

  8. Our spiritual vaccine is our great and persistent faith in God's power, I John 5:4

   a. A faith that never gives up

   b. A faith that believes in the enduring love of God

  9. The component of the spiritual vaccine is a mature faith in God who created everything good including our free will

   a. God who provides everything we need, Psalm 23:1; 2 Peter 1:3

   b. God who loves us but disciplines us when we do wrong, Romans 6:23

 B. Our Spiritual Responses/ Attitudes Towards the Spiritual Vaccine

  1. Realize that God gave us a " a spirit of power, love and self discipline, not a spirit of fear," 2 Timothy 1:7

  2. The spiritual vaccine is also composed of trials and sufferings in this life which serve to " boost our spiritual immune system!"

   a. Jesus said in John 16:33, " In this world you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer, I have overcome this world."

   b. Paul wrote, " All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted," 2 Timothy 3:12

   c. Peter also wrote, "... Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ so you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed,"  I Peter 4:12-13

   d. " With the temptation given to us, God  provides also a way of escape," I Corinthians 10:13

Conclusion

  A. During this pandemic, we can still have worship services and fellowships at home

    1. Jesus said that He is in the midst of 2 or 3 gathered in His name. He will be with us till the end of the world, Matthew 18:20; 28:20

    2.New Testament churches met in the homes of the saints, Romans 16:3,5; I Corinthians 16:9; Colossians 4:15 and Philemon vs.1-2

     3. Church buildings were  built in the 3rd Century AD after Constantine issued the Edict of Toleration
