Christian World Ministry "..the churches of Christ salute you" Romans 16:16
Born in 1930 at Jimalalud, Negros Oriental, Charlemagne Garces Sr, is considered as the oldest living evangelist of the churches of Christ in the Philippines today.
The 91 year old evangelist obtained a degree in theology at Zamboanga Bible College on March 14, 1958.
After his graduation, brother Garces helped establish congregations in Negros Oriental along with other preachers, including the late Santiago Sameon Sr, Pedro Garces, Filomeno Bolongaita, and Simeon Reyes Jr.
Walking with a cane now, brother Garces is one of the " prayer warriors" for the strengthening of the Negros Oriental churches, specially the Bogo congregation in Dumaguete City where his son-in- law Earnest Baragona and daughter Sharlene Garces- Baragona reside.
Occasionally, he preaches at Bogo congregation and serves as an inspiration to young evangelists and members there.
Recently, he witnessed the baptism of Gerardo ( Ontoy) Cahilig, 65 whom he taught with Christ's gospel 35 years earlier.
The Lord continues to bless brother Charlemagne Garces Sr physically and spiritually for his faithful service to God.
Brother Dodoy B. Sameon started his ministry and evangelism in Negros Island even before he was invited to teach at Philippine Bible College in Baguio City in the 1970's
Presently, the existence of churches of the Lord in almost all of the towns in Negros Island can be attributed to the untiring efforts of Dodoy Sameon and others, especially during summer months.
