Accepting God’s Word

Introduction:

The Bible is always used as our reference to great knowledge and wisdom towards Salvation. It is an instrument that stood the test of times where people rejected its words and even encountered many challenges where leaders want it destroyed.  Besides all the many attempts to conceal the Word of God forever in History, Apostles and the many servants of God are guided by our Lord to keep the Bible safe which leads us to why we have this great book in our hands today so it would be a shame if we just keep this in our shelves as decoration or at worse deny every word in it.

 

1)  Allow the Word of God to exist inside you

Colossians 3:16

1 Thessalonians 2:13

-      To become a Christian is an advantage for we have the Holy Spirit who makes us understand the Word of God ever so clearly. 

-      Try to remember the first time you read the Bible before you are a Christian, isn’t it difficult to make out the words and its meaning?

-      The moment we are baptized, it is quite an experience indeed to have the very hand of God pointing out the difficult words with great ease to a point that we are just nodding with agreement with Him.

-      This is the power of the Lord our God through the Holy Bible.

 

2)  Shame in telling others about the Word of God

Luke 9:26

Isaiah 41:10

Philippians 2:16 NKJV

-      The shame we feel when we try to talk about God in public or through our friends and family is a four-letter word called FEAR. 

-      The shame we feel is due to guilt of our past sins that we know others learned about us.

-      We must realize that the past should be set aside, we have the choice to bury our head in the ground forever or ask forgiveness from God our Father and just move forward.

 

3) We all need the strength of God’s Word

Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV

Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV

 

-      Just like how a soldier answers to the call of his country at need, we are soldiers belonging to the army of God

-      We must rejoice in the fact that the Word of God reached inside our soul to do a bidding worth sacrificing everything we have. 

-      Helping each other during times of need with the Bible at hand is a gallant decision worth more than shiny medals.

 

Summary:

Accepting God’s Word is a decision to affect our lives.  Many had regrets later in life for not following the right path but sometimes the responsibility is upon us. Do not resist God’s call to be a Christian, allow God’s Word to flow through us and you can feel the heavy weight of life shouldered by His Son Jesus Christ. Rejoice and let others know your historic moment of being a child of God for it is the strength that He gives us that will make us truly alive.
