Your Bond to Jesus Christ

A bond means a relationship between two persons or group, we usually have a natural bond with our family members like your father and mother or perhaps a sibling like your brother or sister.  We often describe  a bond to be unbreakable, unshaken.  This we can also say that if we build a bond to our Lord Jesus Christ, then we must make sure that we know Him for who He was, what He stands for and what He wants us to do in service to Him and our Father.

 

1)  Making a bond means following Him

Matthew 19:21-22

Mark 10:21

-      Following Jesus Christ is not as simple as just walking from His shadow.

-      He wants us to learn His ways that reflects both His humanity and his holiness which reflects from His teachings and actions. 

-      We must be ready to reject the natural human inclination toward selfishness.

 

2)  Think like Jesus Christ

Romans 15:5

Luke 14:26-27

-    Jesus is the very symbol of love, kindness, sacrifice and devotion to God. 

-    It is not just mere actions that we are drawn to Him, because Jesus never fails to teach us the Bible for every given action. 

-    Jesus wants us to think ahead as He did, he knows that we must carry our own burden like a cross and still be obedient to Him, even if obedience is painful and humiliating.

-    We should be willing to endure for our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

3)  Prepare to be used as Instruments of our Lord Jesus Christ

John 8:31

1 John 2:3

John 14:21

 

-      Just like how Christ  our Lord chose and appointed His Disciples ages ago.

-      We as Christians must be prepared to be used by God

 

Summary:

To build a very solid bond with Jesus Christ, we must follow Him till the end of our time without any regrets and carrying our own burden like a cross but do not fear, because He will always be on our side guiding us all the way.  Understanding how Jesus thinks is a good start now putting it in action is the real challenge, An example of this is showing love to absolutely everyone, throwing away strife and hatred for the world doesn’t need it and Heaven will have no place for it. Show sacrifice and determination, taking up courage to be God’s instruments towards other people who don’t know Jesus yet will be the greatest victory for us all, this will surely make a strong bond between us and Jesus Christ.
