Your Church and Your Family in Unity

How wonderful it is to know that going to Church is like spending time with your family. This is so true because in a Family, you share your happiness and hardships alike. You care for each other; you comfort each other and you all find Joy in worshipping God. A Family and The Church of Christ our Lord share a bond which God is longing from each of us and which binds both sides because we know one thing, God is with us wherever we do our worship on Sundays.

1) The Church and the whole Family worship God

Romans 12:4-5

Acts 10:2

• The family and the church of our Lord Jesus Christ share a bond which God longs from each of us and binds us because God is with us wherever we worship Him on Sundays," Matthew 18:20; John 4:24.

• This is true because although the Church is made up of many members, it is considered one body and Jesus Christ is the head.

• Even though the Father is the head of the Family for as long as the Father takes heeds the teachings of Christ, this makes Jesus our Lord happy.

• Now, being in a Church has spiritual advantages or blessings.

2) The church and the family have the same goals and works

Ephesians 4:15-16

Ephesians 1:3

• We need to work hard so Jesus Christ will be happy with our labors

• Upon baptism and becoming children of God, we are truly blessed as He adds us to the church, Acts 2:47

• We must continue His mission to spread the gospel and to share His spiritual blessings to others, Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:16

3) Duties of a Family Member.

Galatians 6:2

1 Peter 4:10-11

• As in a family, when somebody is hurt or needs comfort, we care for each other and share each other's burdens and pains.

• This makes it easier to cope with problems because we have God who gives us wisdom and comfort in time of need.

• Sometimes, it is difficult for one family member to complete a task but with everyone working together, it becomes easier as God gives us unique gifts to glorify Him, Matthew 5:16.

• Jesus Christ cares for each family member in His church bringing inner peace to everyone.

• Needing the spiritual peace from Christ, we realize that worldly matters are not really that important, thus we are not troubled or afraid, John 14:27.

Summary:

A family that worships God in a church has a strong spiritual bond as it is connected with Christ. That family is blessed for God watches over them and provides for them. Both in the church and in the family, there are chores to fulfill. The talents that God has given to family members can be used to strengthen and comfort each other.
